I am always on the lookout for new and interesting social media sites... partly for fun and partly because ever since the NSFW ban over on tumblr, social media has felt very shaky. It's one reason I'm here and Dreamwidth. Both sites are old and quiet but feel stable. Although anything that is truly important I also keep local backups... I'm trusting not stupid.
Anyway after some poking around on Bsky I found Y2Social and ngl I'm tempted. It's oldschool, 18+ friendly...with some caveats. Look after seeing people claim 26 is a minor in fandom spaces more than once and my main fandom is Sailor Moon which has some onscreen nudity of 14-16 year olds (non sexual but still) I'm iffy. On the other hand I do have Dreamwidth, who's rules are so permissive that I'd really have to work to even come near breaking one, and while I like my current set up, I wouldn't mind having a social media space that is both short form and long form content friendly. Something where I could put shorter updates and maybe actually talk to people but doesn't have a reblog feature (hate, loathe, despise).
I tried Spacehey and while I loved the site I couldn't stand the people but the people here seem more interesting so you know what? I'll try it for a month or two and see if I like it.
